Leadership is about giving not getting

This year we have noticed that many of our team doesnt seem to be paying attention during our meetings. The counselors and our presidency spends a lot of time on these activities and lessons. It becomes discouraging when you decide not to participate. All of you eighth and ninth graders signed up to dedicate your Fridays to leadership team. We need all of your support. If you have suggestions for our meetings (that are reasonable! We aren't having doughnuts each meeting!) please speak to either the presidency or counselors. Please remember that we want you to have fun at these meetings and also learn leadership skills.

Fridays Leadership Team Activities

Welcome Back - Space Center planned

Welcome Back! We're excited for a new year with a new group of Leadership Team members. We meet on Friday's during flex in room 136 (come even if you have a white ticket).

We will be going to the Space Center on Wednesday, November 17 and Wednesday, December 1. Look at your calendar and see which date will work best for your schedule. We'll be sending out permission slips soon. Go to http://www.spacecamputah.org/education.html to review the different missions (we'll need to know which missions you've done before so we can assign you to a new mission). E-mail Mrs. Ellis if you have any questions (jellis@alpine.k12.ut.us).

Space Center

We have been able to set the dates for the space center. We will go two different days, so you will need to pick which date you would like to go:
Wednesday, Dec. 2nd
Wednesday, Jan. 20
If you have a friend who would like to go with us, please remind them to complete Trek (those students will be invited to attend a Leadership Team activity). They should complete Trek at least two weeks before we go to the space center to make sure there is room for them.

Space Center

We will be going to the Space Center Wednesday, Nov. 5 and Wednesday, Nov. 19. (We had to do Wednesday to ensure a bus would be available.) We will leave after school and return about 6:30.

Our mission is Children of Perikoi. Please look at the link to read up on the mission. This is REQUIRED if you want to be an officer.

We will use the Voyager, Phoenix, Odyssey, and Galileo. Go HERE to look up available positions. (We will not do any optional positions.) The information you are looking for is on pages 5-10 (this is a .pdf document). Remember, these will be first come first serve. If you need more information, please contact Mrs. Ellis. We may need to rearrange positions, so please be flexible. Every job is important and requires completion of critical assignments for the team's success.
